Massage

Relaxes the muscles and improves joint movement, circulation and flexibility. It helps to detoxify the body and can improve stress-related conditions and also complement osteopathy by improving joint movement. We have several massage therapists, each with their own speciality.

Sports Massage

If you’re in training for an event or aiming for a specific training goal sports massage can help you to do that with more safety and with better results. Alongside treating soft tissue tension Sports Massage aims to:

  • increase flexibility of muscles and joints
  • address muscle imbalances
  • improves circulation through muscles
  • accelerates recovery from training and injury
  • keeps muscles supple
  • increases self awareness and
  • trouble shoots potential problems

Treatment

Treatment is tailored to the individual but for example someone running the marathon or wishing to take a part in a triathlon may have:

  • Initial treatment of an hour (where training schedules and goals are discussed and a full body treatment/assessment is given)
  • Half hour massages every two weeks up to the event working through potential problems, sore/ tight/ tired muscles to maximise training and performance
  • pre-event massage the day before or even the morning of the event to prepare muscles and minimise chance of injury
  • post event massage to flush out metabolic waste build up
  • massage one week after the event to address any arising issues
  • continuing check ups every four to six weeks until next event

Availability and Prices

The course of treatments above, based on a 12 week run up to event can be purchased for £275 for 6 hours of massage. Other courses are also available.

Massage services are available Fridays between 4pm and 8pm.
