Trichology

Trichology is the science of the structure, function and diseases of the human hair and scalp.

The Institute of Trichologists is the oldest professional association for Trichologists in the world, the largest provider of trichology training in Europe and, at 107 years old, is the longest established body of its type.

All registered members of The Institute of Trichologists are fully qualified and are bound to the Institute’s strict code of Ethics.

How can Trichology help?

Trichologists are specialists in hair and scalp disorders, they can help with a variety of conditions ranging from dandruff, itchy scalps, psoriasis, seborrhoea, thyroid disorder, chemicals damage, iron deficiency, androgenetic alopecia, scarring alopecia , other alopecia and various forms of hair loss.

Our practitioner is a graduate of the prestigious Institute of trichologists, which consisted of four year’s intensive study covering various aspects of hair and scalp disorders, hair chemistry and sciences, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, genetics and microscopy.

What happens at your first appointment?

A full case history would be taken, which would include a full medical history, a thorough examination of the hair and scalp, a treatment plan which includes UVA and RAD lamps for various treatments of hair loss, high frequency treatment, blood tests may be necessary and referral to the GP or to the appropriate health care professional if needed.

Included in your consultation would be a home treatment pack to take home with you.
